Genii are delighted to announce (loudly and from the rooftops) that our sales team has grown to include a new young fella called Lachlan Welsman. He's new, and he's a rookie at this game so go easy on him… Just kidding, give him a hard time - it's the best way to learn ;-)
Seriously though, we believe passionately in career development and training at Genii and are proving this by taking on new sales people who know next to nothing about sales and nothing about print - and over a period of 12 months turning them into Print Sales Gurus. It'll be something to watch… Trick is to start with the right raw materials and from which you can create almost anything. Take uranium, for example. Actually don't. Bad example.
This stuff takes time, and lots of commitment to do, but really once you've done it you've got high performing sales people coming up through the ranks of your business. So this is (we think) far better than the alternative of buying in sales people from the industry. Most of whom are crap, and all of whom come with preconceived ideas about what selling in our environment is all about.
As in most things, we think a bit differently and will walk the talk over the next few months - starting with Lachlan who will be the first through our Genii Sales Academy.
